Help Save Lives

That Can't Save Themselves

Hi, welcome to the site. My name is Sarah and I would like to tell you a little story as to how and why this site is here.

Why, is quite obvious. Because I am showing, and helping other people show their support to Animal Rights, Vegetarianism and Veganism. How I got to this stage goes a little something like this.

A few years ago I went for a slap up meal with family and friends. We all sat around the table, drinking, laughing, carefree. The waiter sidled over and after a rapid glance at the menu I ordered the leg of lamb and some steamed veg. Once all the orders have been taken, the conversation flowed once again. The waiter reappered sometime later and placed in front of me my food. Giggling away I began to eat, until I looked down at my plate again, only this time something was different, something had clicked. For on my plate was a slab of brown meat in the shape of a small thigh, out of that thigh jutted a shin bone. Suddenly, what I was doing became so clear, although with no reasonable explanation. I was eating a leg of lamb, as in a lamb that you see out in the field, a lamb that brings so much joy to spring to see them froliking around and suckling the mother. I was eating it, chewing it and swallowing it. Why? Why was I eating a dead animal? It just made no sense. But something had clicked in my brain and I pushed the plate away.
"Not eating that?" People asked. But all I could do was mutely shake my head. Although I felt like saying, "no, why would I eat it, it's an animal" But I didn't want to ruin the evening. Instead, I picked at my vegetables and tried not to think of the origins of everyone elses dinner.
I never touched meat again.

Dear Visitor,

Someone once said to me 'Carnivorism is like a religion'. And in many ways it is. The two definately share many common factors, for example, if you met a religious man on the street, and told him of an alternative religion that was just as good as his, in many aspects better, what would he do? He wouldn't say "well lead the way then", in fact quite the opposite, he would scoff, refuse to see your point of view, and trying counteract you with a contradictory argument. Have you ever tried suggesting vegitarianism to a carnivore, amazingly you get the same reaction.
This site is mainly designed for vegetarians, vegans, people considering vegitarianism for whatever reason, and the health conscious. This site is not here to preach, to scold or to make you nauseous, or belittle you, it is simply to help save the lives of those who cannot save themselves.
So if you are vegetarian or vegan, considering it, or perhaps you just care about the welfare of animals on our planet or maybe you're even curious about the factory farming process, then you have come to the right place.
I am going to tell you and in some cases, show you everything I know, and hope that in doing so, you will learn everything you came here to learn.

Please remember - If you can't go veggie then go Organic or Free range!
